VESDA Smoke Detector Designed for Small, Business-Critical Spaces
16/06/2004 - Xtralis Pty Ltd has released the latest in its family of VESDA very early warning smoke detection products. The VESDA LaserFOCUS(tm) is designed to protect small areas of less than 250 square metres (2500 square foot) that contain valuable or business-critical equipment.

The VESDA LaserFOCUS builds upon the design of the market-leading VESDA products. Patent-pending ultrasonic flow sensing technology ensures reliable and accurate airflow monitoring that is immune to air temperature and pressure changes and is unaffected by contamination. The Smoke Dial display on the front of the detector allows a user to determine the threat level of a fire incident at a glance. Pressing a button converts this Smoke Dial into an Instant Fault Finder(tm), conveying information about the state of the detector e.g. a low airflow fault, that can be relayed to support personnel, who can then arrive onsite prepared to solve the problem. Out-of-the-box operation has been hailed by installers as a major time-saver as they can install and commission the detector without the need for special programmers or software.The VESDA LaserFOCUS is available through the global network of VESDA distributors.
